SITE SURVEYING

REFLECTIVE ESSAY

This module permits me to experience the basics of site surveying, linear measuring, leveling, traversing, satellite positioning, remote sensing, mapping survey and building construction measuring. This module additionally permits to develop the flexibility to use measuring equipment like a theodolite, leveling staff, auto level meter, tripod and so on.

At the end of this module, I will simply translate the survey info once through the survey for the utilization by the design and construction groups. I will simply explain the principles and objectives of the setting out new buildings and also the survey of existing buildings and land. I can even simply operate the automatic level and theodolite throughout the measuring and perceive the method of recording the data. Last but not least, I appreciate my lecturer,  Mr. Chai Voon Chiet for taking his time to guide us and giving us further information on the measurement at the site before a building is being constructed.

Though site measuring isn't the duty as a quantity surveyor, however it's still helpful on behalf of me within the future since we need to have the fundamental knowledge in site surveying.

BUILDING SERVICES

REFLECTIVE ESSAY

This module allows me to know the principles services systems that are normally within a building like ventilation systems, telecommunications, storm water management , sewerage disposal and treatment , cold water and hot water supply, and I also knew that each of the building services should based on the essential needs of Uniform Building By Law (UBBL)

At the end of this module, I am able to gain better the understanding and information of the building services on preparing Bill of Quantities (BQ) and for the estimating purposes. I may simply justify the relevant data like principles, space implications and regulations for water system, liquid waste disposal, storm water management, ventilation and telecommunication services. I will simply differentiate the installation of varied styles of services in a building. At last, I'd thanks to our lecturer, Mr. Kam Kenn Jhun for teaching us and giving us such helpful information regard of the building services. This information and knowledge are incredibly vital and helpful to me within the future.

MEASUREMENT 2

REFLECTIVE ESSAY

After through the fourteen weeks of classes for measurement 2, I had learnt the measuring work for the masonry of external and internal walls, timber floors and stud partitions, staircase structure and staircase balustrade; floor, wall, ceiling and staircase finishes as well as painting. All the measuring that I study should supported the quality the standard of Measurements, Second Edition (SMM2) by the Royal establishment of Surveyors, Malaysia. It has improved my writing ability for the outline of building works.

At the conclusion of this semester, I will simply twist out the measuring work and make a scientific take-off quantities and Bill of Quantities (BQ) for brickwork, stud partitions, staircase structure, staircase finishes and balustrade, floor, wall and ceiling and precast concrete piling from the draft. I may also simply mark and illustrate the variations in writing description consistent with the design changes within the drawing. At last, I might wish to appreciate to our lecture, Ms Habizah, Sheikh IImi teaching us and granting us more information and this information is very important and helpful to me within the future once I am operating in a working firm.

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY 2

CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY 2

REFLECTIVE ESSAY

After through four months of class for construction technology two, I had learnt lots and gain additional information regarding the development building. I will currently explain the elements of piled foundations, deep excavation, formwork, scaffolding, shoring and underpinning, partition and suspended ceiling, portal frames, formed concrete and steel roof trusses. Once through this module, I had gained additional information regarding the building structures.

At the end of this semester, I will simply explain the logical sequence of ideas and different construction practices, demonstrating the variation in material applications. I will apply the current legislation and normal with particular attention to safety and simply explain the proper use of the building materials. At last, I'd wish to appreciate our lecturer because of our lecturer, Mr Chiew Seng Khoon for teaching us with much effort.  I'd also wish to appreciate to Mr Chiew Seng Khoon for his very detail throughout teaching and thus easier for us to grasp.
